A lot of people tell me that they don’t have a “green thumb” and they struggle to keep plants alive. I believe that anyone can successfully grow and maintain plants and enjoy the fruits of their labor by immersing themselves into the beautiful flowers, vegetables or fruit they have grown. In Colorado, our soil can be so difficult to work with. But there are solutions we can teach you to make gardening less of a challenging experience.
Gardening is the practice of growing and cultivating plants as part of horticulture. In gardens, ornamental plants are often grown for their flowers, foliage, or overall appearance or useful plants, such as root vegetables, leaf vegetables, fruits, etc.
I learned how to garden at an early age. My grandfather, Bill, lived in Pueblo, Colorado and we would travel there from Denver on a monthly basis to help him with his garden. He reminded me that a lot of people think that gardening starts in May here in Colorado, and goes to the end of September. In fact, you can actually garden every single day of the year! We would prepare our seeds and design the layout in January, plant the seeds in February in our grow room, start nutrients in march and begin the compost for the year, then every single month after that. There were specific milestones and dates each month for maintaining the garden. We gardened all 12 months of the year.
We want to teach you how to do this. We want to make gardening less overwhelming for you. You can have a sustainable garden even if you don’t live in a house with a large lot. You can even have a successful garden in your patio or even your kitchen.
As a Colorado Native, we understand the different types of soil in Zone 5. We understand the weather patterns and the amount of sunlight each plant needs. This is easy to figure out once you know what to look for.
We specialize in perennials, annuals, produce and herbs. We don’t want to fix your lawn, install your sprinklers, lay your rocks, design your stones or borders. We want to help you build the garden of your dreams in the space that you have and celebrate the rewards of having a green thumb. We do, in fact, have Power Partners we collaborate with that can help you with some of those things as well as local owned CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) is a partnership between farmers and eaters that begins long before the first flower blooms or vegetable ripens, in addition to farmers who grow livestock), foodies, herbologists and flavor experts. You will be in awe of the talents of my Tribe.
